Custom realistic plush · 1:1 from photos
Send six phone photos. Twelve days later a hand-cut, airbrushed replica comes back to you at 1:1 — the same blaze on the chest, the same tilt in the left ear, the same grey around the muzzle. One piece is fine. Made in Dongguan.

Anyone can sew a dog.
The hard part is the eleven things you cannot sew.
— Replica Program, note 04
Ear set, muzzle length, blaze width, tail carriage, the grey at the chin, the shine in the eye. Fur is about twenty percent of the resemblance. The other eighty is trim and paint — and that is the part nobody puts in a catalogue.
What you are actually buying
Everything else in this program is a choice of price, size and packing. These three are not.
No stock pattern is scaled up to fit. A 30 cm dachshund and a 30 cm husky share one number and nothing else. The pattern is drawn from measurements taken off the photographs, then cut in card before a single piece of fur is touched.
Fourteen passes of thinned acrylic through a 0.2 mm nozzle, dark to light, on a piece already sewn and stuffed. Printed fur reads as fabric at arm's length. Paint reads as an animal at arm's length — and it is the only method that lets the grey around the muzzle be a gradient instead of a circle.
A hand-painted iris behind a glass dome, bedded in with a tilt so the catchlight lands where the animal's actually did. A plastic eye with a printed dot is the fastest way to make a good replica look like a toy — and it costs us nine cents less.
The flow
The whole program is one loop: photographs come in, photographs go out. Nothing is cut in bulk until you have approved a face.

Fig. 2 — Step 03. Shading the muzzle of a red fox prototype. The airbrush is the slowest station and the one that decides whether the piece is believed.
Front, both profiles, the muzzle from above, the tail, one paw. Phone camera, daylight, no filter, no flash. If the animal is gone, old photos are fine — we have built from a 2011 phone picture of a cat, and we told the buyer in advance which two details it could not recover.
Same day · freeThree people look at the same six photos: the pattern cutter marks the blaze, saddle and tail rings; the painter writes the gradient list; QC writes down what will be hard. You get that note before you pay a deposit — it is usually where a project is won or lost.
1 day · freeCard pattern, fur cut with the pile running the right way, sewn inside out, filled in three stages so the belly is heavier than the back, then airbrushed. The weight matters more than people expect: steel shot in the base makes it sit the way the animal sat, instead of standing like a trophy.
12 days · depositShot on a white sweep at six angles, plus a 20-second video turning it once. Three rounds of small fixes are included — ear 5° forward, muzzle 3 mm shorter, the grey one shade lighter. This is the step that separates a supplier from a factory that ships and hopes.
Photos in 24 h · 3 roundsSame pattern, same painter, same batch — because a second painter's grey is never the same grey. Every piece is held against the approved photo under a 5000 K lamp before it is bagged. 25–30 days after sign-off.

Tick what you already have. Missing ones are not a problem — we will tell you which gaps actually matter for your animal.
Tick three or more and a pattern cutter can already tell you whether the markings are buildable in fur.
The fur
We hold about forty faux furs and use five of them for nine out of ten replicas. The rest are for the animals that only work in one specific pile — a wire-haired terrier, a newborn fawn, a Scottish fold.

Fig. 3 — The five working piles: short, long, tipped, sheared, curly. All of them are brushed and trimmed again after stuffing; none of them arrives looking like this on the finished piece.
We will not print fur for a realistic animal. Print is right in a photograph and wrong in a hand — and it is the one shortcut a buyer notices in the shop, three seconds after picking it up.
| Pile | Goes on |
|---|---|
| Short pile 4–6 mm | Muzzles, faces, short-haired cats and dogs — where the shape has to read, not the texture. |
| Long pile 20–25 mm | Maine coons, golden retrievers, winter coats. Needs trimming at the eyes or the face disappears. |
| Tipped two-tone | Foxes, huskies, wolves, tabbies — the one pile that produces shading without paint. |
| Sheared even 8 mm | Pandas, calves, lambs, anything with a clean silhouette and no visible strand edges. |
| Curly loop | Poodles, bichons, sheep, alpacas. Expensive and slow to sew — quoted separately. |
| Pile direction | Cut head-to-tail on the body, down the limbs. Getting this wrong is the difference between fur and carpet. |
All fur is 100% polyester, FR-treated on request, and passable under EN71-2 flammability without extra treatment at these pile heights. Colour matching is done against your photos, not against a Pantone book — fur never matches a flat swatch exactly.

The details that decide it
Not the fur, not the size. The eye, the nose, the ear and the paw. Every one of them is a place where a factory saves four minutes, and every one of them is why the piece either sells at $180 or sits in a basket at $29.
12–16 mm borosilicate dome over a hand-painted iris. We test three catchlight positions against your photo and pick the one that matches. Set 2–3° off-axis so it looks at the camera from the angle the animal did.
Either a cast leather-look nose or 6,000 stitches of satin fill, depending on species. Nostrils are recessed 1.5 mm so they hold a shadow in ordinary room light; a flat nose is the second-fastest way to look like a toy.
A wire rim inside the ear leather lets the buyer set the angle and keeps it. This is what makes a shelf display look alive: one ear forward, one back, the way the animal held them in the photo.
Four toe beads, airbrushed pads, and no stitch running across the sole. Cheap plush always shows a seam there. Whiskers, where the species has them, are 0.15 mm nylon set one at a time — four extra minutes a piece.
Sizes
Length, not height — because a sitting cat and a standing cat are the same animal at two different heights. Life-size is available on request and quoted from the measurements in your photos.

Fig. 4 — Twenty-five centimetres, six species, one pattern team. A red fox and a barn owl at the same length share no single pattern piece.

Who orders this by the hundred
A generic plush competes on price. A replica competes on nothing, because there is no second supplier of that particular face.
Memorial and keepsake brands sell a replica at $180–320 and reorder. At that retail, hand-finishing is not a cost problem — it is the only thing the customer is paying for.
A gift-shop buyer can tell a red panda from a raccoon at a glance, and will say so in the meeting. Markings, ear shape and tail rings get checked against the specimen, not against our last order.
Breed-specific replicas let a pet brand sell forty variants of one product without forty moulds. Same carton, same hangtag, different face — that is a catalogue, not a custom order.
One piece to check the face.
Then the run.
Every quantity includes six photos of the proof and three rounds of fixes. The only thing that changes with volume is the price and who pays the freight.
Indicative prices in RMB, EXW Dongguan, freight not included. From ¥1,500 a piece — pattern, airbrushing and the proof set are inside that number. Final price depends on species complexity, size, fur type, packing and Incoterm; the written quotation is the one that counts. USD figures converted at ¥7.15 for reference only.
The questions buyers ask before they send the first photo.
No. It is faux fur, polyester fill, a glass eye and an airbrush. We take the question as the compliment it is, and we print not a living animal on the hangtag — because a replica that fools a guest at three metres will also fool a customs officer, and only one of those two is funny.
That is most of our orders. Send the highest-resolution files you have, even phone pictures. Before you pay a deposit we tell you which two or three details cannot be recovered from them — usually the exact eye colour in shadow, the inside of an ear, or a tail nobody ever photographed straight on.
That is the entire point. The pattern is cut from your animal's proportions, and the paint follows your photos' markings — the blaze that is slightly off-centre, the white sock on one leg only. Breed-standard work is also available and cheaper, because it reuses a pattern we already hold.
One piece. 12 days for a single replica including paint and proof photos; 25–30 days for 50 pieces and up after you sign off the prototype. Pattern development for a new species adds 3–5 days the first time and is free on reorders.
On our standard build the eye is locked from behind the shell and pull-tested to 90 N. For a market that requires under-3 compliance we either back it with an additional washer or switch to a 6,000-stitch embroidered eye, which reads slightly softer but passes any test matrix. Tell us the age band and we build to it.
EN71-1/-2/-3, ASTM F963, CPSIA and REACH, quoted as a separate lab fee. The piece has no magnet, no button cell and no rigid core, which keeps the matrix short. Flammability passes at these pile heights without extra FR treatment, though we can add it.
You do, for the patterns cut from your animal, and we will not reproduce it for anyone else. We keep a copy in the archive for reorders and delete it on request. For branded characters you need to hold the rights; we ask for one line of confirmation and nothing more.
